Our Programs
Summer Media Production
During this one-week immersive summer camp, youth ages 11-18 engage in hands-on activities to explore how various media arts converge in the art of filmmaking. Participants practice life-long skills of collaboration and creativity while utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and software to develop experience in photography, acting + directing, sound design and editing.

Intro to Filmmaking (ages 11 - 18)

Intro to Filmmaking is a fun-filled and educational program in which youth ages 11-18 learn the basics of narrative film production, including roles on set, workflow, and collaboration. Youth will work in groups to build collaboration and teamwork skills, while exploring their unique creative voice.
Youth will create a final product based on a script written by a California middle schooler from the Latino Film Institute's Youth Cinema Project's screenwriting program to showcase at the end of the program. BAYCAT Intro students have worked with YCP scripts in Spring 2024 and 2025.

Advanced Filmmaking (ages 14 - 18)
FREE Skill Expansion + PAID Internship
​Advanced Filmmaking is a fun-filled and educational paid internship in which youth ages 14-18 expand on their knowledge of film and video production. Previous participants have worked on documentaries about various socially-minded people and organizations.
You must have completed at least one program at BAYCAT, your school, or another institution, or have equivalent experience to qualify.
