and graphic designers.
Learn the fundamentals of filmmaking as you create short documentary videos. You will learn how to conduct interviews, work with DLSR cameras & lighting, and edit in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Learn the fundamentals of design as you create product mock-ups, posters, and social media assets. You will learn how to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects to create static and motion graphics.

The CREW, our paid internship for high school aged youth is perfect for students with advanced skills in filmmaking or graphic arts. Students must have taken at least one filmmaking or design class at BAYCAT, their school, or another institution.
*This after-school program takes place every Spring and Fall.

What can I expect after I aply online?
The BAYCAT Academy team will review your application. If we are able to offer you a spot during the upcoming term, a member of the team will contact you using the email address provided in your application.
How are the students selected?
Youth applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis. BAYCAT prioritizes returning students, youth of color, low-income youth, youth who reside in San Francisco, and youth who attend SFUSD schools.
Can I apply to BAYCAT if I'm not in Middle School or High School?
At this time, BAYCAT Academy only provides programming for middle and high school youth (grades 6-12). If you are 18-25 years old, check out our paid internship opportunities.
Are programs back in-person?
We are currently offering hybrid programs, operating mostly remote and meeting in person for selcted dates.
